Lenten Season and the Pandemic

People have been commemorating Jesus' crucifixion on Good Friday and eventual return from the dead on Easter Sunday for years. The forty-day Lenten season is defined by Christians as a journey in the wilderness. Lent is a season of deliberate fasting before a time of feasting, a time of looking for God in the middle of life's brokenness. People have traditionally given up something during Lent to mark their journey and refocus their energy on their relationship with God. We believe that someone who begs for the forgiveness of sins will be forgiven because of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. And everyone who believes in Jesus' triumph over death has glorious hope for a better life and a renewed relationship with God.
