Mother's
Day is celebrated in the Philippines on Sunday to honor mothers' unimaginable
contributions to their children's lives.
On Mother's Day, Filipinos will recognize their
moms, mothers-in-law, and grandparents to express gratitude for the numerous
things they do to keep their families safe, nurtured, and united. Whether
they work in air-conditioned offices in affluent financial districts,
factories, or any other profitable job work zone, their responsibilities as
moms are never completed when they leave for their different work locations the
next day.
Mother's Day was first observed by ancient Greeks
and Romans in honor of the mother deities Rhea and Cybele, while Mothering
Sunday is a contemporary allusion to the day. The event was religious in
character since people used to attend their major church, also known as the mother church, on Mothering Sunday.
People commemorate their moms by giving them
gifts or doing something special for them on Mother's Day. Festivals honoring
mothers and mother deities stretch back to ancient times. There are numerous
things individuals may do for their moms if they live together under one roof
during times of pandemic fear, such as in the Philippines. If
they live apart, they can utilize technology to make it appear as if they are
in the same room.
Given the various extents of COVID-19 lockdown from north to south,
families will be forced to halt, possibly in thankful quiet, and express thanks
for the moms, mothers-in-law, and grandparents who have offered emotional support
to their family over the seasons. They are entitled to nothing less.
